Released in October 2023, the Raspberry Pi 5 offers a significant improvement in performance over previous Raspberry Pi models. With a 2.4GHz quad-core processor and up to 16GB of RAM, the Raspberry Pi 5 has three times the CPU performance compared to its predecessors.

With the Vilros Complete Starter Kit, you’ll have everything you need to get started with the Raspberry Pi 5. This kit includes a case, power supply, cables, and a Micro SD Card pre-formatted with the Raspberry Pi operating system. We’ve also included a Quickstart Guide for new users.

Operating Requirements

Power Supply: A 27W USB-C power supply is needed to provide power to the board.
Micro SD card with Raspberry Pi OS: Vilros offers SD cards pre-flashed with RPi OS.
Keyboard and Mouse: Connected through the Raspberry Pi’s USB ports.
Micro HDMI Cable: Used to connect a monitor to your Raspberry Pi 5.

How Much RAM Do You Need?

More RAM allows the Raspberry Pi 5 to run more programs at once, handle larger files, or support more demanding applications without slowing down. If you're not sure which to choose, the 8GB option is a great place to start for most beginners and educators.

2GB – Great for simple projects, basic programming, and affordable setups for beginners.
4GB – Ideal for general use, multitasking, media centers, and retro gaming projects.
8GB – Best for advanced applications like Docker, robotics, AI, and development environments.
