Great looking screen, some assembly required

As others mentioned, my screen came with some disconnected wires, loose stand offs, and really zero instructions. Not being my first experience with this kind of thing, it wasn’t a huge impediment to getting set up but I can see how a novice might run into trouble. The good news is that the screen itself is great looking; with vibrant color and crisp picture. I’ve got a raspberry pi inside mine running a DAKBoard set up that absolutely serves my purpose. I didn’t go too far down the actual Magic Mirror software since I’ve already been using DAK for years. This is a great addition to my home and it’s been fun to tinker with. I’d absolutely get one again.

      Absolutely Love It

As others have mentioned there were loose screws and in-fact a screw and one mounting post were missing. I wrote to customer service. They responded promptly and quickly sent me the parts. Any company can have some issues. It’s how they resolve them that shows the integrity of the company.

Looks as good if not better than the one that requires a paid subscription. I initially set this up using a Raspberry Pi and running DAKboard. Now, I set up MagicMirror on the Raspberry Pi. Very impressive. Dropped in the Pi board, rotated the image to portrait -90 degrees and it was off and running.

      MagicMirror

Pleasantly surprised. Good construction, & easy setup. Works great. Mirror was a little heavier than expected, but interface works well and requires a little experience with Raspberry PI & Linux.

Vilros Magic Mirror is Magic after the Interior Electronics are Wired Together

I like it, it is easy to use, slap a Pi in there, install MagicMirror, and it works.
The only downside is that the electronics were not connected up. They either weren't connected when manufactured, or fell off during shipment. Tech support promptly emailed an image of where the connectors go.
All in all I am satisfied.

Fun project, could use more instructions.

I had some quality control issues. Screws and standoffs were not tightened enough to stay in place. Consequently they fell out of the box and into the carpet never to be seen again. They won’t send parts, only complete replacements. There are no instructions. There’s a video about how to attach a raspberry pi, that’s all. Installing software and actually getting it to work is all on you. Eventually I got it to work with an installation script I found in the magic mirror forum.
