I tried to use Anker 45 Watt power supplies and found out they were only 5 Volt 3 Amp (15 Watt), which caused random system crashes. Get these 27 Watt power supplies and save yourself issues. I couldn't find any other 5 Volt 5 Amp PD compatible power supplies, and Vilros had the best price for them.

Seems like a quality product. Time will tell. It arrived a day before I expected it to! Very happy with the purchase.

Good quality and sufficient power to run rpu5 +internal SSD +1 external SSD. If you add the second external SSD then it won't be sufficient and you will need piwered USB hub for that. Highly recommended.

I needed power for my Pi 5 and didn't have the time to run to MicroCenter during the holidays. So, I ordered the Vilros power supply. And it's a nifty little power supply that works perfectly with Pi 5. Vilros products are top notch as usual.

The charger works well for my Pi 5. I first started using the Pi 5 with my old Pi 4 charger and would get a message that the Pi 5 wasn’t getting enough power. Ordered this charger and the message went away, has been working great ever since then.

I've used these enclosures on 3 of my PI5's. The fit is perfect and the on/button is really convenient. Not only does the case allow you to stuff them behind or under just about anything but the internal fan works well to keep the temps down (recommend using the full heat sink with the cases for maximum cooling.

I got this case with a raspberry pi 5. It performs really well and is a great option instead of the official case.

Only thing is that it includes only 1 small thermal pad.
Some extra thermal pads would have made this perfect.

From the reusable box, to everything being labeled and carefully packed, the Vilros PI-5 kit was top notch. I also purchased the aluminum case with fan and the full sink. Everything went together perfectly. I'm running a couple of ham radio programs on it along with a software defined radio (SDR) app. I also surf the internet and view videos on youtube without any problem (running 4G ram). The fan is loud when it runs but on mine it only run for about 20 seconds when it first fires up. I'm so pleased with the PI5 and Vilros that I've ordered two more. On one I needed to make some changes to my pending order and Vilros support promptly took care of it all.

Vilros is a top notch company and the products they sell are great and fairly priced .... shipping is fast too.

The quality of the case is fantastic, just as ever case from Vilros has been. The instructions for the heat sink placement and other components was spot on. The QR links to the videos cleared up the slight but of confusion I encountered at one point.

I don't have a lot of experience with Raspberry Pi's but this was fairly simple to get up an d running. Everything worked first time and there are plenty videos if you need to check the orientation of anything

Cons: The following 2 issues cause me to deduct 2 stars from the rating:

In the same order I ordered the raspberry Pi AI Hat. The problem is once the Hat board is installed the the lid of the case that has the CPU cooler no longer fits, so I have to run the system without a CPU cooler. This seems like a major design flaw.
The supplied heat sink comes with 'sticky thermal pad s' that allow it to be attached to the components on the board. However these pad are not very sticky and so the heatsink does not stay in position

The case is nicely made.

It heats up as the PI increases in temperature, so I think it is acting like an heat sync. Likely due to the central column for the cpu heatsink.

The micro SD card slot is well exposed, so it is possible to get the micro SD card out.

I would not recommend using the SD card cover, as the only way to get the SD card out with it on is to remove the SD card cover, which requires you to remove the cases bottom. This is good if you never plan on taking the SD card out, but bad if you plan on switching OS's on occasion.

The major con I found was that the PI5 board was a bit loose in the case. I was able to fix this by adding in two more screw holes and some washers I made out of an piece of cardboard. This is one point that would really help make the case better.

It is not possible to hit the power button. However, I do not use the power button.

Overall it is a case, it works and looks nice, it includes the fan, and I can easily get to the SD card slot when you remove the SD card cover.

Power "hole" (deal breaker if I only knew before buying). The power button of the board sits deep enough that my normal sized pinky finger can't even press it. If you're spending material for the worthless SD card cover then why not on an actual power button? There's no way for me to press this without using a stick or something. Couldn't you have just made the hole bigger? or recess it? Or I don't know just make an actual button? I'm like a chimp trying to get ants from an anthill here!

Attractive & functional case for either desktop or DIN rail; screw spacing helped ease the latter.

Moved my RPi 5 from the stock red/white case to the Vilros Duo Deluxe. Two reasons: Wanted to DIN rail mount it, and prefer a less colorful case.

Stress testing barely runs the fan, it was never audible and the Pi never throttled over the 5 mins. It's not intended to run heavy loads anyway, and the passive cooling of the metal case helps.

As far as DIN railing, I used one of the many "RPi board" mounts. The case bottom cover is attached via two of the RPi's M2.5 board mount screws, so replacing them with 14mm length secured it nicely via holes intended for bare board mount.

Note the RPi DIN plate mount I purchased had integral standoffs with tiny holes for self-tapping screws, which collapsed when drilled out. In future I'll select units with separate standoffs, as the Vilros case feet give adequate vent spacing.

The SD cards are easy to setup but for performance and longevity, an NVMe drive is going to wipe the floor with it. The price here is good and it's easy to install and get going. If you're using your Pi for any serious storage IO, get this. I was running a database off an SD card and burned it up in a few months.

There's a line now present on the M2 Hat+ "about page" that someone has edited in: The M.2 HAT+ is only compatible with the Raspberry Pi Case for Raspberry Pi 5 if you remove the lid and the included fan. The same appears true for the Vilros RP5 case.

I already have the RP5 Active Cooler (SC1148) , and the Vilros RP5 case (VILP279). The tall spacers that come with the M.2 HAT are slightly too short to go over the cooler if you want to put the case cover back on. The stacking pin extensions are long and push through the M.2 HAT, but are also short enough that they don't push through to any usable length because the cooling fan is in the way, and even if they did, the case lid with the extensions blocks the pins.

I didn't use the pin extenders and made a frustrating trip to the computer store for some long spacer screws. I also ended up not using the pin header extension, had to carefully position my power and I2C pins before putting on the M.2 HAT, and pulling the wires out of the way. I'm sure it would be more frustrating if using SPI devices, as they take even more pins.

With those small modifications, the setup works if I'm not rewiring pins. The adaptor itself works great, the NVMe drive is lightning fast compared to my V90 speed SD card. The difficulty to access GPIO pins for future projects and too-short spacer pins combine to lose a star.

Was happy to finally have an official product from the foundation! Installation was a breeze and of course, native support with Pi OS. Everything working as normal, but faster. Only wish they either built it to fit inside the existing case WITH the lid on - or offered the ability to purchase (or print) a replacement lid that seats properly over the NVMe HAT.

Nice little kit. I've enjoyed playing with it. In fact I bought another.

Just like to say that Vilros has the best prices available. I ordered a raspberry pi 5 package and everything that is included would cost way more than other official Raspberry Pi distributors online compared to what Vilros is offering their customers. Plus free shipping. Setup was easy due to pre installed software on SD card included and the metal cool case has kept the SBC running around 100+ degrees, compared to my raspberry pi 4 that runs at 130+ degrees in plastic case, I will be upgrading that soon. Don’t hesitate to purchase your raspberry pi from Vilros, they can’t be beat.

So very simple to get started

I had been hesitant about the Raspberry because I knew all this "other stuff" was needed - this kit made it easy. Up and ready to go with everything included. Would definitely buy again.

Order was delivered quickly and the Pi was easy to assemble. The case looks slick and feels durable. The kit has everything needed. I'm excited to start using it!

Pretty sweet case. Raspberry Pi snapped in perfectly, and the case feels very sturdy, no rattling, no shaking, everything is tight. The aluminum frame feels solid. It looks excellent.

Only complaint was that it was unclear to me which way to install the bottom plate, it wasn't obvious in the instructions (though maybe I missed something)... Super minor inconvenience though.

"The first bite is with your eyes.". This is true for a a Raspberry Pi as well. What was once a simple PCB has now become an elegant and sophisticated work of art full of functionality.
