(And if you don’t have an iPhone, don’t worry – an Android version is also on the way!)

Best of all, this app is now available in its initial phase for free.

On July 22, 2020, Arduino announced the launch of its new app, described as the “perfect companion” to your Arduino IoT Cloud. After you develop an IoT solution project on your desktop, you will then be able to monitor and control the dashboards remotely using the app.

Where Will You Use the New Arduino IoT Cloud Remote App?

One of the greatest advantages of the app is that it now makes it possible to access and control any of your Arduino IoT projects wherever you go. Hopefully this makes it possible for you to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency with your projects at different sites.

For example, if you have an agricultural or gardening project, you can be out in the field and respond to the data you receive from soil sensors. Or, you’ll be able to start your IoT irrigation solution from anywhere via the app, so you can monitor and tend for your crops from anywhere.

Or, maybe you have a manufacturing project that is being built or is running in a factory. If so, you can be anywhere in the factory – or anywhere in the world – and still have visibility on the status of the manufacturing processes, with control over the automated procedures.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s never been more important for people to stay at home. Now you can use the app to continue to oversee your projects from the comfort of your couch. And if and when you do go out, you’ll be able to monitor your home automation systems from wherever you go – turn on the lights, monitor your energy usage, and check-in with your automated home security right on your phone!

Enhanced Features for the Arduino IoT Cloud Dashboard

In addition to the new mobile app, the Arduino IoT Cloud dashboard has been updated, so that with the app connected it will be easier than ever to manage your IoT projects.

You can quickly create a project dashboard using your desktop or tablet. You’ll be able to automatically configure your devices (including crypto security) and also generate your project code. There are several widgets you can use to connect to various properties, so you can easily set-up a variety of dashboard configurations in mere minutes.

All the dashboards are customizable so that you can organize devices and simply create a sequence. There’s a drag-and-drop capability to create your layout, and you’ll have multiple options, including graphs, to visualize data. You can even bring together data from multiple IoT devices and display and control them via one dashboard, so you can have a fully integrated solution.
