This capacitive soil moisture sensor from Adafruit makes it easy to monitor soil moisture in plants, gardens, and DIY irrigation systems. Compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers, it's perfect for automated watering and smart gardening projects.

Unlike other low-cost soil sensors, Adafruit designed this sensor to use capacitive measurement. Capacitive measurements use only one probe, don't have any exposed metal, and don't introduce any DC currents into your plants. This sensor also gives you the ambient temperature from the internal temperature sensor on the microcontroller.
