Pi 4b with grey metal case

All arrived as expected and seems to work fine. Fan is a bit louder than expected. I have an HP mini with a quieter fan.

Once the 4-series had much more memory, the 8gb unit became so much more powerful. You could run things like Docker and design real infrastructure around these tiny little devices. I really love the 4B. I designed and implemented radio station broadcast system around (3) 4B units sharing a common mirroring point., with each also controlling a unique input source. It all fits into a 1-u rack space and controls the entire station transmitter audio feed. I LOVE the Raspberry (I own about a dozen units all different versions starting from Day 1. I am still waiting to see any of them fail. With the advent of hard drive /memory stick boot things are even more reliable than using micro sd cards which fail all the time! So, the 4B with 8gb does useful work and can replace all those huge intel beasts with a low-current, high powered controller in the right place. Sun said it first too... within the internet universe 'The network is the computer' and creating clusters of Pi anchored by devices such as NAS NFS servers certainly allows some amazing things! This turned into a theses. T.

Starter Kit is Worth It

I ordered just the basic starter kit and it was totally worth it. It was incredibly easy to assemble and allowed for me to plug and play not even 15 minutes after opening it (I already had a micro SD card flashed). The 4B does everything I need it to do.

New to raspberry pi

The hardware and setup were simple to move through. I used this device for a small project to run a slideshow on loop. Everything works great!
