The video demonstrates step-by-step assembly, tips for proper fit, and how to make the most of your Plug N Pi Case design.

Case overview

The Vilros Plug N Pi Case features a convenient, tool-free design that provides protection while maintaining easy access to all Raspberry Pi ports. Key features include:

  • Snap-fit or slide assembly (no screws required)
  • Full port access for USB, HDMI, Ethernet, GPIO, power, and microSD
  • Ventilation channels for passive cooling
  • Compact footprint suitable for desktop or project integration
  • Durable construction for long-term use

Compatible with: Raspberry Pi 4, Pi 3, or other models depending on case variant (check your specific model)

Assembly steps

  1. Prepare components: Remove the case parts from packaging. If acrylic or plastic panels have protective film, peel it off before assembly.
  2. Position the Raspberry Pi: Place your Raspberry Pi into the case base or mounting area. The board should fit snugly with all ports aligning with the case openings.
  3. Snap-fit assembly: If your case uses a snap-fit design, align the top cover with the base and press down until you hear or feel the snaps click into place.
  4. Slide assembly (alternative): If your case uses a sliding design, slide the Pi and base into the outer shell following the directional guides molded into the case.
  5. Verify fit: Check that all ports are accessible and the case is securely closed. The Pi should sit level and stable within the case.

Removal: To remove the Pi, gently press the release tabs (if present) or carefully separate the case halves by applying even pressure to the seams.

Features & benefits

  • Tool-free design: No screwdriver needed - assemble and disassemble by hand for quick access during prototyping.
  • Port accessibility: Full access to GPIO header, USB ports, HDMI, Ethernet, and microSD card slot without removing the case.
  • Cooling: Ventilation slots or channels provide passive airflow. For intensive workloads, add heatsinks to the Pi before installation.
  • Desktop stability: Rubber feet or flat base keep the case stable on your work surface.
  • Project integration: Compact size and mounting options (depending on variant) make it easy to integrate into enclosures, robots, or custom builds.

Maintenance: Clean the case with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could scratch acrylic surfaces.
