Unpack your keyboard
Your Vilros 2.4G wireless keyboard package includes:
- Wireless keyboard
- 2.4GHz USB receiver (nano dongle)
- Product documentation
Remove all items from the packaging. The USB receiver may be stored in a compartment on the back of the keyboard or packaged separately.
Connect the USB receiver
- Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver (small nano dongle).
- Insert the USB receiver into an available USB port on your Raspberry Pi, computer, or compatible device.
- The keyboard should connect automatically. No drivers or software installation is required.
- If your keyboard has a power switch, ensure it's turned on.
The 2.4GHz wireless connection has a typical range of up to 10 meters (33 feet) in open space. Keep the receiver inserted and avoid obstructions between the keyboard and receiver for best performance.
Test & troubleshoot
Test all keys to ensure proper connectivity. If the keyboard doesn't respond:
- Check the power: If your keyboard has a power switch, ensure it's in the ON position. Some models have an LED indicator when powered on.
- Re-seat the receiver: Unplug the USB receiver and plug it back in to a different USB port.
- Check the battery: If your keyboard uses batteries (check battery compartment), ensure they're installed correctly with proper polarity.
- Re-pair if needed: Some models have a pairing button. Press the pairing button on the receiver and/or keyboard if connection fails.
- Interference: Move closer to the receiver or remove potential sources of 2.4GHz interference (other wireless devices, microwave ovens).
